| Appearance: A slight to moderate brown pigmentation of the superior iris layers with the underlying layers reflecting a blue or almost whitish appearance. May be concentrations of golden-brown to reddish-brown pigments encircling the collarette and radiating outwards in a spoke-like fashion. Many people with this colour will say they have brown or hazel coloured eyes, but when observed more closely, the underlying lighter base colour shows through. Some Iridologists call this the grey iris colour. Potential Characteristics: Liver and gall bladder insufficiencies. Gastrointestinal disturbance and digestive errors, especially if the pupillary zone is more densely pigmented. Weakness in pancreatic function. Disturbances such as irritable bowel syndrome, flatulence and hypoglycaemia. The condition of the liver and gall bladder almost always are indicated by signs in the right eye, although there are exceptions to this. For example, when problems with these organs are inherited, the signs which normally are seen in the right eye are seen in the same locations in the left eye. In the right eye, the liver and gall bladder signs are revealed between the collarette and ciliary border between 36' and 43' One interesting aspect of liver function is it’s production of pigments, which can be distributed to other tissues of the body. When the liver is affecting these tissues, the brown pigment appears in those areas of the iris corresponding to the tissues. Such tissues which could be affected by the liver include the ovaries, testes, pituitary gland and thyroid. Nutritional & Lifestyle Considerations: Reduce fried foods and fats from the diet. Reduce alcohol, drugs, caffeine, red meat, sweets and salt. Increase vegetable intake, especially green, red, and orange vegetables. Diet high in complex carbohydrates-high fibre, low fat, low protein, vegetables, fruits, would be an excellent way of eating for the Biliary constitution. Bowel tonics and colon cleanse. Eat fresh salads with lemon and pure olive oil dressing. To detoxify: Amino acids methionine, cystine, taurine and inositol prepares the liver for the production phase I & II Cytochrome P450 detoxification enzymes. |
