| This Hematogenic Iris shows the haze of significant cholesterol plaque and inorganic salt building up in the arteries. Cerebral circulation is also diminished. Nutrient assimilation is low, and essential fatty acids are extremely low. Pockets of bowel toxicity are indicated. |

| Appearance: Brown iris. The ciliary border, a white or cream coloured translucent to opaque deposit in the cornea, varying in depth and intensity. May be seen in any colour iris. Potential Characteristics: This ring has been commonly known as the calcium-cholesterol. Suggestive of high cholesterol or blood fats in the blood stream or high calcium build up in the joints and tissues of the body. By noting the position of the arcus (deposit) we can differentiate risks to certain areas. A frontal arcus indicates cerebro-vascular insufficiency. A medial or temporal arcus indicate coronary and/or pulmonary artery blockages. A ventral arcus reflects insufficiencies of hip, thigh, and leg arteries. Recognising that there is a chemical imbalance in the system, it is important to realise that this sign suggests the following: A liver dysfunction with disturbed fat and /or glucose metabolism (a yellowish lipid deposit in the sclera is yet another indication). A cardiovascular degenerative process. Thyroid, adrenal, mineral deficiencies and insufficiencies. The ring may be a result of a lifetime accumulation of calcium or cholesterol; or it may be a characteristic indicating that the individual is predisposed to the above mentioned tendencies. Cardiovascular risk is more significant when seen in the 30's and 40's age group. Depression, poor memory and concentration, senility, stiffness, pain in the distal joints. Blood pressure imbalances. As the physical condition hardens the arteries the mental aspect of the person becomes inflexible, resistant and set in their ways. The lesson is to live and let go and become more tolerant of other peoples idea as well as their own. Otherwise they may become like the pillar of salt and harden their body and mind. Nutritional & Lifestyle Considerations: Avoid any inorganic minerals such as table salt, dolomite, oyster shell calcium, and aspirin. Reduce meats, concentrated fats (butters, margarine, saturated oils), fried foods, dairy products, coffee, alcohol, and cholesterol rich foods. Increase green vegetable intake. Water soluble fibre is very important in reducing serum cholesterol |
